COUNTDOWN – 79 DAYS

To my first 10 KM race in this April!

I see 2019 as a challenge to my health and mind. The schedule of this year is tighter than last year, but the excitement to race is burning! Because no, I never joined a 10 KM race before if you ask, and so I will not let anything to put that aside.

The race is organised by Borneo Run for the first time ever in Brunei. What is Borneo Run? It is a collaborative efforts of Brunei Darussalam’s Youth and Sport Department, Brunei Darussalam Athletics Federation, Labuan Sports Council, Sabah Sports Council, Sarawak State Sport Council and National Sports Committee of Indonesia. In this upcoming race, they offer three categories :

  1. Half-Marathon
  2. 10 KM
  3. 3 KM family fun run

The prizes :

  • BND 8,000.
  • Top 3 Winners for 1. and 2. category will get complimentary entry to participate at GREAT BORNEO SERIES of Kuching Marathon 2019 in August.

I made this decision as to change my daily life routines and balance everything I do. This year is also an important academic year, where the result of my study will be most likely define my future career.

With a heavy workload from my school means busy and stress which I try not to use that word very often as it is demotivating. And indeed, running is the cure to that! Healthy body equals to healthy mind, agree?

And yes! I have started running daily since the first of January.

My target by the end of this month is to run for 3 KM in 15 minutes 

Next month will be 5 KM in 27 minutes ( my best time in 2015! )

For March, I’m targeting to start running for 10 KM in less than an hour. 

And for the 7th Of April, I aim to finish the race and  break a personal record, hopefully not a leg. 

Is this possible? Yes! ( to myself ) . With a consistent training, daily run and different workouts, and of course – a healthy food consumption.
